GREs

MFA deadlines are creeping up with December 1 being the earliest I’ve seen so far. If you haven’t taken the GRE and need to, hurry and schedule a test date so you’ll have enough time to order score reports and send them to your schools.

Many schools require the general GRE test, which is used as an initial screening process by the graduate admissions office. Before the GRE was revised, the minimum verbal score needed was 600 by schools who listed a minimum score.

As a helpful hint, note that most schools require two sets of different materials: one for graduate admissions and one for the creative writing department. For instance, schools require official paper transcripts mailed to them while the rest of the application can be completed online. Make sure that you stay organized so that you don’t forget any crucial parts of the application!
