Hi Everyone! I’ve been working to update the admission rates this week by contacting directors, program assistants, and even on occasion faculty . We’re all a bit fascinated by admission rates, and for good reason. They let us know our chances of entering a program. For instance, I just heard got a note from Peter Davies at Michigan who stated that of the 1,000 applications they receive each year in both genres, Michigan selects only 22 promising candidates. That’s about 11 students per genre!
As you’re applying to schools, it’s good to have at least one safety school on your list. But the safety school should be one that you’re excited about. And that’s my little piece of advice. You never know what’s going to happen! Good luck with applications this winter!
