This year Iowa Writers’ Workshop received 1,026 applicants in fiction and 354 in poetry. The program admitted 25 students in fiction and 25 in poetry. In 2011, the program received 1,100 applicants in fiction and 350 in poetry, and admitted 25 students in each genre.
