Funding: “We are a fully funded program, meaning we cover each student’s tuition, health insurance, and they receive a salary for them teaching two composition courses per semester. Tuition for the next year is $14,681 per semester (29,362 per year) for a non-resident and $5,520 per semester ($11,040 per year) for a resident of Arizona. The student is responsible for paying $510.94 per semester ($1,021.88 per year) for student fees. Also, we offer anywhere from $200-$1000 in fellowship money (usually enough for the student to have a good portion of their fees covered in their first year) to incoming students.   1. Manuscript: approximately 30 double-spaced pages for fiction;  6-10 single- or double-spaced pages for poetry
  2. Three letters of recommendation
  3. Letter of intent: a statement (300-500 words) expressing your goals and/or reasons for pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Arizona. What are your ambitions for your own work? What do you hope to accomplish during your time in our MFA program? What draws you to our program in particular?
  4. Official transcripts
  5. Resume (1 page) listing employment, publication, prizes, honors, awards
  6. $85 application fee
