Funding & Training: The University Fellowship in the 2012-2013 academic year includes: a full tuition benefit, $24,000 stipend, ten hours a week working in the Writing Studio, and health insurance. Second year students have the opportunity to teach a beginning creative writing workshop for one semester.

Tuition $1,782 per credit for residents and nonresidents; 36 credits to complete the program

Application (Deadline Dec. 15):

  1. Manuscript: 20-25 double-spaced pages for fiction; 10-15 single-spaced pages  for poetry
  2. Online application
  3. Statement of purpose: 3-5 double-spaced pages
  4. Three letters of recommendation
  5. Official copy of transcripts
  6. General GRE scores (Institution: 1871, Department: 2501)
  7. $40 application fee
